Thank you for visiting! My name is Maria. I love and appreciate words as containers for our individual and shared stories. While language is always imperfect and imprecise, it can be a powerful tool for cultivating connection and empathy.

I studied Creative Writing and Religious Studies at Northwestern University, and I recently received my MFA in Poetry from Randolph College. From 2015 through 2018, I served as the inaugural Poet Laureate of Somers Point, New Jersey, which offered me the awesome opportunity to lead workshops and engage with the local community.

I spent several years operating my own creative agency, specializing in brand storytelling and content creation, and I occasionally still work on select projects with kind humans.
